It´s the only song on the album that really got stuck on the first listening, an instant hit. And it´s also the only song that sounds like the old Europe.
And what can you say about the lyrics, the lyrics is about Phil Lynott, i think that says it all.
It has a clear hitpotential

I disagree with most here… For me is the worst song of cd… It’s heard very sweet, concerning dark feeling of cd

The only song on the album which is really Europe-is.
Sadly to admit, but this is not the EUROPE's album. It's the NEXT Norum's album. I was afraid of it... And it's happend.

Actually, I want to say the followin' - in the 1986 JN quits the band 'because of the pop-tunes, small quantity of guitar riffs (AND!!) - huge (in HIS opinion) quantity of KEYBOARDS).

Well... Thank God that times things turns right into 2 great (my fav-s) albums - 1988 & 1991.

Now JN came back... and they're just throw away all melodies, all keyboards, ALL FEEL of the EUROPE from the music. Hey, MIC! I bet You spent 20 minutes in the studio to complete Your part of the job... This is baaaaad...

Grreat. SFTD if the average JN's album, not the Europe's one.

I give it 3 of 5. Just for the fact they're back and I've been waitin' for f&ckin' 13 years till the next (THIS) album.

And now I'm hopin' they'll make the nex album MUCH more melodic and root-based.

ah... 'Hero' is the great song. The only from the album.

For me it's the most beautiful rockin' ballad i've heard in some time [SM=x237824] ( the too much sweety song for the CD is settle for love [SM=x237825] )

Nice heavy ballad. A good tribute to Phill, very good guitar solo in Lizzy style... I like it very much [SM=x237814]

Best song on SFTD it has that classic europe style. I put it next to prisoners in paradise. This song is not about one guitar rif. Imagine you'd play this song on a piano or acoustic guitar. It will still stand great! I think Joey and mic made it. Norums influences must be very little in this song... or am I saying a bad thing now...

A very good song. The first half is perfect. The second half is maybe a little bit over the top. Very good altogether, though.

This is it!

This is a classic rock song that will live forever!

I love this song and I think it's funny that Joey is 'still growing up'. [SM=x237842]

A cool song
Hi everybody, what can i say? If anyone liked Europe in the 80's, they have to love this song.
I'm not for or against STFD sound. It's true that I would've prefered a little bit more melodic sound, but hey this is what they feel like doing now and I appreciate the band's honesty.
The only low-point in the song is that it deserved a better gtr-treatment...I just feel that Kee's style would have suited the song better.
Rock on!

You're still my heroes (since 86)
John is the man
when he left the band it was the worst day in my "fan-career" [SM=x237820]

when they came back WITH john - it was a celebration day!

and thank god they never worked again with Ron Nevison.
oh, how I dislike that sterile lead guitar sound on the OOTW album [SM=x237853]
